UPI reports that US Covid cases are up and mask mandates have been imposed in some places.
Neither bit of news surprises me in the least.
That Covid cases are up is something I expected would happen, just as we see with influenza every year. Why would Covid be any different?
But what disappoints me is that mask mandates are returning even though it is now widely understood that masks really don’t help and in some cases causes non-Covid illnesses in numbers greater than Covid. So why impose mask mandates that won’t actually help anything? Is it merely another means of virtue signaling? Is it an exercise in controlling part of the population? Or worse, is it a conspiracy by the mask manufacturers to stimulate sales?
We’ll have to keep an eye open to determine which of the three is the truth...unless its a combination of all three!!
