As I mentioned last Sunday, the Official Weekend Pundit Lake Winnipesaukee Runabout was due to be pulled from the water during this past week.
On Thursday, BeezleBub and I finally hauled the boat trailer down to our town docks. I walked to the the slip where the boat has been berthed all season, fired it up one last time for the season, cast off, and motored out of the cove and over to the town docks.
About 20 minutes later the boat was safely ensconced and secured on the trailer. A few minutes after that BeezleBub towed the boat to the boat yard where it would be winterized and stored for the winter.
Our 2021 boating season was finally over.
This was the Official Weekend Pundit Lake Winnipesaukee Runabout just after it was pulled out of the water. (You can see the ‘algae’ line on the hull of the boat, showing it was in the water all season – from early/mid-May to early November. The hull was pristine when we launched the boat last May.)
While this is not the latest we’ve pulled our boat from the water, that date being November 15th some number of years ago, it was still a few days later than when we usually do that. It is always a sad day.
It’s time to start planning for next year’s boating season.
