Two Inauguration Days - Four Years Apart

Seeing the circus that was the inauguration – 25,000 troops, razor wire, empty streets, and maybe 2,000 attendees – and comparing it to previous inaugurations, I had a paradoxical response.

First, I thought it was farcical, meaning all of that security at the Capitol, along with FBI ‘warnings’ about armed protests in all 50 state capitols, and what happened?

Absolutely nothing.

Here in New Hampshire there were maybe a half-dozen protesters in front of the State House. Were they armed? If would say the probability was better than 50%. Would it matter if they were? No, not really.

A lot of people here are armed and no one either notices or cares. We don’t have shootouts in the streets. There are no recreations of the OK Corral. There aren’t numerous firearm murders.

There was no armed confrontation at the State Capitol on Inauguration Day.

So much for FBI ‘intelligence’.

Second, in contrast to Inauguration Day four years ago, nothing other than the swearing in of the President and Vice President took place.

This was Inauguration Day in 2017:

Those depicted above certainly weren’t Radical Right Wing White Supremacists/Trump Supporters, were they? In many cases they were the same miscreants who have been burning down cities like Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis over the past four years (and are still at it). Where was the outrage from the Left back then? All we heard was silence. All the rioting, looting, and arson that took place and there was little from the MSM other than there were disturbances.

Quite a contrast, wouldn’t you say?
